Long time, no posts!

Life has been pretty busy, but in a nice way. :) I’ve been enjoying wedding planning, and all of the hard things are done! Now I can focus on the little things, like making my garter, head piece, designing the invitation, finding my sister a maid of honor gown, and saving money whenever I can!

I had a wonderful 3 day weekend. It was busy, with lots of driving, but I spent it in my favorite place with some of my favorite people. And truly, I love going for long car rides with my fiances, holding hands, listening to music. Its my favorite thing to do together. :)

I’ll never look at the ESB the same way again…

I always love looking out my boyfriend’s kitchen window at the New York City skyline. When I visit we usually check to see what color it is that night.

We had plans a month or so ago to go to the top after seeing a short play my boyfriend was acting in. It wound up being incredibly cold and windy that day, so we never went. Finally yesterday we got there. We had a beautiful day. We went to Mass in the morning, followed by breakfast in the church basement, and then we headed off to NYC on the path.

We stopped at starbucks, saw The Intrepid, grabbed some pizza then headed to the Empire State Building. It had been cloudy all day, but the sun came out when we got to top. I snapped a bunch of photo and really enjoyed the beautiful view.

I was snuggling up next to Lou for a hug, when we tells me he has something I might want a picture of. He pulls out a little black box with a red bow, gets down on one knee and asked me to Marry him! I was totally blown away and did not expect it at all. I’m still in a happy little fog right now.

My Favorite Things

We have had THE most GLORIOUS weather here in NJ. It’s been in the 70′s. Crazy warm for March, and I love it. Finally a first day of spring that actually feels like spring. This weather always puts me in a good mood (I’m not a winter person) and makes me start to think of some of the little things that make me happy. I know I’ve written similar posts before, but there’s no reason not to remind myself.

(In no particular order)

  • Holding hands with my boyfriend while we go for rides in his car.
  • Eating lunch outside
  • Naps with the window open while fresh air comes in with the breeze
  • Mushy text messages
  • Quiet moments with my Love
  • Ditching my winter coat
  • Eggs fried and folded, with cheese on any sort of bread.
  • Day Dreaming
  • Meeting with the “Young Adult” Catholics group I belong to
  • When my puppy gives me “High Five’s” when I come home from work

Getting Jiggy with it. ;)

In NJ, we celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day early, as to not compete with the NYC parade. I danced on a float this weekend. There was an estimated 70,000 people including spectators and those in the parade. It was windy, cold, and kind of scary on the float, but still tons of fun!

I made the pink and black dress I’m wearing.

I love that…

The days are getting longer. Just a few weeks ago I was walking to my train in the dark after leaving work.

I had a seriously fun weekend in Washington, DC with my friends from a Catholic “Young Adult” group I belong to. (we’re trying to come up with a better title)

We visited the  Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, which was breath taking and so very overwhelming. We pretty much hiked all over DC, and walked until our feet hurt. We wound up  jumping fences when “short cuts” turned into dead ends. I laughed until my face hurt, and snapped quite a few photos. Here are a few highlights.

One year ago tomorrow, I thought my entire world had come to an end. It was only just beginning.

I have someone who truly loves me now. Someone that makes me feel safe, doesn’t push my boundaries, and tells me often how he loves me and misses me when I’m not there.

Sounds like the basics of a good relationship, but I spent a lot of time with someone who didn’t quite have those things. I loved him, but his love was not like mine and deep down I think I always knew it.  He was in my life for 2.5 years, and I thought he would always be there.
When he told me he “Just can’t do this anymore” I felt beyond devastated. I cried for months. I had nightmares. He meant the world to me, and it hurt to have him gone.

But now, a year later, after I have gotten over the hurt and look back at that relationship, I know I am far better off now.

I’m glad God took that situation out of my hands and led me to someone who puts a smile on my face instead of tears in my eyes.

This is what happens when I’m bored

Design Board

I was browsing fabrics and patterns online, and decided to “Photoshop” the fabric onto the image of the finished Burdastyle pattern.

I think I’d make the skirt a tad fuller, and a little shorter. I think it also needs pockets and a sash or belt.

You’re never too old for toys

I have this theory that people only have children so they can keep buying toys. Well, I don’t have kids, so I just buy them anyway.  I think I’ll turn this little Lalaloopsy doll into a key chain and clip it to my purse.
